Zambezi Canoeing with Classic Africa Safaris

A typical Zambezi canoeing photograph with Victor Ncube taking charge of the steering in the lead canoe.  (About 90% of a canoe's steerage comes from aft - Victor usually selects the fittest and strongest guests to join him in his canoe - that way he really gets to relax on  his own safaris...)

With the river flowing at about 4km/hr, paddling the Zambezi in fine weather is a magical experience in Mana Pools.

The canoes are of the Canadian standard, comfortable and very stable.  Even with three-up there's lots of space for camera kit, lunch and refreshments whilst the camp crew moves luggage and equipment to the next overnight stop.

(Incidentally, Victor still falls for the old "sunken-teapot-sea anchor" trick after a refreshment break - that way he gets some real exercise...)
