Mission Victoria Falls

Back to the Falls!

“Spring is sprung” in the north, our safari season is about to start in the south!  Victoria Falls from Cataract Island on the Zim side, an exclusive view!

So with the change in season we thought we’d make some changes of our own.

Chris Worden has been based in our UK office since 2005 – we’ve had enough of him so we’re sending him back!

Chris left Vic Falls for Kariba in 1987 and was instrumental in setting up our Lower Zambezi office in 1996.

We think that the timing is nearly right for some long awaited change in that part of the world so Chris is re-establishing our Victoria Falls base.

The perfect hub from which to start and end a safari, Africa’s “adventure capital”, a World Heritage site, one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World etc etc.

Well it’s not all play because we’re on a mission in Victoria Falls.

Part of which is a series of privately guided safaris that Chris is leading through the 2009 season.

  • Dates are set: 16-25 June; 25 June-4 July; 5-18 August; 15-25 September; 29 October-7 November; 23 November - 2 December.
  • We’re exploring the Kafue, Luangwa and Zambezi valleys, Hwange, Selinda and the Okavango.
  • Small groups - maximum 6 guests.
  • We have freedom and utmost flexibility to take best advantage of current conditions on each trip.

These are old fashioned safaris at old fashioned prices where the focus is on getting outstanding game experiences in the best areas without crowds.

Milestone safaris:  BIG birthdays, anniversaries, reunions of old friends and family and a few whacky plans (a stag party aboard Zambezi rafts) are keeping us very busy at the moment.  Now’s the time to be planning for 2010!     ...speak to us about a "milestone safari "...

Smart safaris : Pick up on the latest smart safari ideas for 2009.  The high season from July to September is looking busy for the smaller and remoter camps.  If you have flexibility and some spare time from mid September then you’ll catch the height of the safari season in southern Africa and the migration in East Africa.

US Dollar to join the Euro - Wednesday, April 1, 2009

With the G20 summit catching all the news in London the Fed surprised the markets today by announcing that in a bid to cut confusion among American tourists, the US Dollar was going to join the Euro.  The new union will be known as “Europe And the North United States” and the currency will be known as EUR-ANUS for short.

The new notes will feature the head of the ECB Trichet and the head of the Federal Reserve Bernanke who will be united under the banner “Tric-Banke”. When working together, however, Jean Claude Trichet and Ben Bernanke are to be known as JCB.

Britain’s Gordon Brown welcomed the move but was overheard commenting to the chancellor “Darling, we’ll need more than a JCB to dig ourselves out of this mess”
