Highlights

• This is a unique lodge based safari combining two exceptional camps in two completely different eco-systems in Moremi and the Kalahari 
• Xakanaxa is one of the few privately owned camps located within both Moremi Game Reserve and easy reach of the Okavango's permanently flooded zone
• Deception Valley Lodge is located on the boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve - arguably the best location for exploring this massive wilderness region
• This safari represents the ideal "core" to a safari in Botswana - easily combined with Selinda and Chobe or Victoria Falls, Hwange, Kafue or the Luangwa and lower Zambezi Valleys. 

Best time of the year

• April to November each year when the Okavango is most accessible
• Each season and every year differs in the Okavango 
• Best game is from July to November, best birding in the green season from mid October to April

Best Access

From Maun, Kasane or Victoria Falls by air to the Delta and Kalahari 

Tips and notes:

• This safari is easily extended - Victoria Falls is the primary hub from which Chobe and Hwange are accessed. Lusaka and Kariba are easy connections and hubs for Kafue/Luangwa and Matusadona/Mana Pools combinations. 
• Access to both camps in Moremi and the Kalahari is by light aircraft - baggage allowances are restricted to 12kg in soft bags, special allowance for additional photographic equipment must be made in advance.
