Currently ClosedClassic Africa Safaris was originally operated by Safari Par Excellence, one of the oldest and best-known adventure operations in Zimbabwe. Over the last four years, Patrick and Elaine Brakspear and their team of guides and camp staff have created a safari operation now recognised as one of the premier canoe and walking safari outfits in Mana Pools. The speciality is highly personalised canoeing and walking safaris on Mana's Zambezi shoreline and floodplain. Access into Mana is ideally done by light aircraft from Kariba, an option is to consider the three hour drive - expect nearly two hours of bumpy and dusty roads, but often good game en route! |

Mana Pools National Park | |
Mana
Pools National Park is located on the southern bank of the Zambezi River
in the lower Zambezi Valley - it includes some 70km of the Zambezi
shoreline. "Mana" meaning "four" after the
permanently filled pans that dominate an area of this World Heritage Site,
is particularly striking in the dry winter months when the Ana trees, (acacia albida now faidherbia albida) come out in leaf
and evoke a park-like atmosphere across the open flood plain.
Mana Pools and particularly the Zambezi shoreline attracts significant populations of elephant and buffalo plus a variety of antelope and predators in the dry winter months from May through to the start of our rains in mid November. [see more about Mana Pools] |
