About Kunene Safaris...

Caesar Zandberg, who set up Kunene Tours and Safaris, designs and operates all our itineraries. A Namibian by birth, he is an expert on the Kaokoveld and Himbaland, its wildlife, its remotest trails and its rare beauty.

All our safaris in Namibia are led by fully trained and licensed guides specially chosen for their ability to impart their great knowledge and profound love of the area to our guests.

The safaris…

We are able to offer a combination safari of all lodges and small friendly hotels, or luxury camping, or both. For the best of wild Namibia we recommend that itineraries begin and end with lodge accommodation, with a few days luxury camping in the middle. Not only to reach the wildest parts of this remarkable country but also to enjoy the unforgettable experience of nights under the African stars in solitude and contemplation. Our camping accommodation is in full frame stand-up tents with beds, mattresses, duvets and pillows. The camp includes a dining table and chairs with full crockery and cutlery service, refrigerators, toilets and hot showers.

The remoteness of Namibia…

It is the wildness of the scenery and the lack of other people that makes game tracking and bird watching in these areas so very special. To our mind, this is the true African experience.

Small parties…

The African wilderness is a delicate and subtle experience. For this reason, unless for special itineraries, we usually accept no more than six to eight participants per safari, and we will run our fixed departures with as few as two clients. All our vehicles are 4x4.

You may choose to travel on one of our fixed date and fixed itinerary safaris, bearing in mind the programme often changes with the run of game, or we are happy to design a bespoke safari especially for you.
